Pictures of the Cel Outs Exhibition!

It was a great night and I hope everyone who went had a great time. Our graduate animators worked hard all year for their projects and this showcase was a breath of fresh air to see everyone’s’ amazing efforts on the big screen.

I had such a swell time and was so amazed at everyone’s work. All those peeps who  came and had a chat I say thanks and I hope you had a blast!

Cristina’s little piece is awesome! I really like thinking about the relationship between the two main characters after the animation and how they’d interact.

CEL OUTS
An animation exhibition by the graduating students of RMIT’s Bachelor of Design (Animation & interactive Media) 2014!

Enjoy an array of over 60 animated works, including 2D, 3D and stopmotion pieces. Watch them as they are projected on the walls, or head over to a computer to watch a specific one. 

Snacks and drinks available. And plenty of time to say hello to the animators themselves.

VENUE:
Hosted at The Grange, located at Grange Place, Melbourne VIC 3000, just opposite the Melbourne Gaol. Access via MacKenzie Street.

“Sword of Time”

I know that there’s no bow and arrow in the piece but I just like the dynamic. I really wanted to do something action heavy for my piece but ended up having to change and cut a lot of mine … ending with very little action. Daniel’s project on the other hand is awesomely action packed!

(I’m loving these watercolour textures if you haven’t noticed haha)

“Welcome to Grossvil”

Well, heres something you don’t normally see me post. That being said I actually really enjoy drawing these really detailed gross looking characters. I decided to draw Cam’s Mayor Brikton in a more realistic way which made him look super gross … GREAT!

“Robo and Dino”

Continuing on from drawing peeps characters from their major animation projects. Here is Aileen’s adorable little dino who’s getting a little too heavy for the poor robot.

As a little response to Chloe’s amazing fanart of some of our classmate’s characters in their major projects I felt like doing a little something as well … albeit a lot slower. Trying to get back into inking traditionally and playing around with colours and textures on the computer.

I’ll do a couple more of other classmate’s characters so look forward to that.

Chloe is just …. just ….. JUST -tears- AWESOME! She drew little Dexter the rat (bottom right) from my major uni project along with other people’s characters. LOVE IT! Now I have to do something similar!

DONE!

Submission is tomorrow for my major project that I’ve been working on all year. I had to cut a lot of things and of course it isn’t exactly what I wanted (animation wise) but my god Chris ‘Calined’ Manthey did an amazing job on the music and really brings everything to life.

If you want to see it along with the other RMIT graduates’ works come along to our exhibition, Cel Outs on the 13th of November.

Sooooon, soooon it’ll be finished.
